I, for the record, do not recall having that conversation with David. I totally knew what LARPing was, and have seen it being played, and have family who is active in the PNW LARPing community.
But, I do agree with the piercing comment ;o)
A couple of years ago, Campy was back in town and I asked him if he wanted to go see Slither with me. He then gave me this big speech about the nature of horror movies, and how he only likes the old classic style of horror movies. Then a couple of days later he called me and said “Oh man, I saw Slither with a friend. It was awesome!” Don’t listen to his hypocrisy.
Also, I want to be a guest.
I liked this episode better than the previous one. True story! So if you want to be nerdy, then darlin’ don’t refrain.
I bet you there was at least one really disappointed dude at that look-alike contest who went above-and-beyond to get his Einstein on, and your dad just saunters up, all born with it, and takes the cake. I bet a mil!
Well done Moses. I laughed everytime you said fannypack… until 5 minutes later when you revealed that it was for your inhaler, then i felt sad for laughing at you.
@Taylor Yeah but I saw it in a different city.
@Gillian there is much humor in fanny packs. i would say laugh on. for the record i have a new one in the mail. it has been to long.
I didn’t have much hope for this episode and procrastinated listening to it for fear of being unable to relate, but my fears were unfounded. You guys managed to crack me ‘the fuck up’ for a full hour for the third time.
I’m just catching up on episodes 3 and 4, and just got my shout-out. And am feeling very special. And superior to Blove. So yeah, eat it Blove. And thanks Mosey!!!
PS: Now I’m mad at you, because you’ve exposed my stealthy nerdocity.
PPS: The band sex issue is actually much simpler than you think. Band kids have a lot of sex BECAUSE of the road trips. Specifically, the co-ed road trips. Team sports? Not co-ed road trips. Band (and I’d add, choir)? Co-ed road trips. Enforced proximity + boredom + opportunity = sex.
I was reminded by Margaux that you can grow a whole new baby person in a period of only nine months. I believe this is a perfect analogy for your ninth grade year of high school. I believe that makes you officially eight years old Moses. Happy birthday.
Finally catching up on Eps 3 and 4. Believe me, we’re all still nerds and we fool no one (but ourselves)! And that’s great! Keep the podcasts, nerd-dome and laughs coming. Peace…
p.s. Fuck off Jerry Kemper indeed! Man that guy was a giant prick! Hope he’s a nice well-adjusted human being these days…
Also: I totally slayed that dragon with Moses on New Years Eve baby! (I think Rory and Braden where there too). And it was freakin’ EPIC! Ah, those were the days… those were the days…
p.s. alienating your constituency with nerdy-ness? Who do you think listens to this podcast anyway?!
that makes the Miss Singlespeed thing even more strange.
Learning Workshop pride.
Wow you guys talking about D&D totally brought me back! Especially those Robotech nerds in the back of the Game Vault. Jebus, good times.
